Truly In the Booth

Greetings from the Unity Park press box. I am currently typing away while on the air.

Yes. That is correct.

Waterford has already beaten Trumbull tonight and Wolcott and Ridgefield are two hours into a goofy game that has the score at 15-10 in the bottom of the sixth.

Again, that is correct.

It is now heading into the seventh inning. Incidentally, this is the eighth game of the tournament and the scoreboard just started working. Why? Because Mike Buswell's son Bryce grabbed the remote control and pressed the power button.

Yes. It has been that kind of night.

Maybe it's the ghost of Babe Ruth.

OK, I'm now off the air and sitting in a rest area at the side of the Merritt Parkway.

Or CT State Route 15.

Your call.

Ridgefield won that game and they will play Waterford tomorrow at 5:30, followed by Easton and Stamford at 8 pm.

The second broadcast tonight was admittedly goofy and had a bite to it. Apologies to those who caught strays from me as I was having fun.

It was mostly harmless.

The danger in such a thing is that it becomes too much of "inside jokes" though I do try to explain things as possible.

Anyway, it was all in good fun tonight because that's what sports broadcasting should be.

Of course, there are still games to report and we did that.

Mission accomplished.

Now, I'm going home.
